Jackson: “One of the most spectacular [Greyhound bus accidents] was on August 28, 1965, when a truck loaded with heavy timbers ran head-on into a Greyhound. Eleven persons, including the truck driver, died as the timbers fell into the bus. The accident occurred near Vinton, Louisiana, as the truck was passing a car on Highway 90 when it ran into the oncoming bus, which had pulled off onto the shoulder.” (Jackson.
