May 18, CNN: “Ten people were killed and 10 others were injured in a shooting Friday morning [May 18] at a high school in the southeastern Texas city of Santa Fe, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed. Authorities have said two people have been detained in the shooting at Santa Fe High School. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office identified the shooter as Dimitrios Pagourtzis, who is 17….The alleged shooter used a shotgun and a .38 revolver that were legally owned by his father, Abbott told reporters. Two school resource officers were on the campus and confronted the shooter ‘early on in the process,’ Abbott said….

“Gunfire erupted at the school, about 20 miles outside Galveston, not long after classes began around 7:30 a.m. CT officials said. Authorities later found explosive devices — including pipe bombs and pressure cookers — in and near the school, the law enforcement official said….” (CNN. “Officials identify suspect…shooting that killed 10…Santa Fe High School.” 5-18-2018.)

May 19, USA Today: “….It was the worst mass school shooting since the rampage at a high school in Parkland, Fla., in February, left 17 dead, and the worst in Texas since a sniper killed 16 people and injured 31 from atop of the clock tower at the University of Texas at Austin in 1966….[1]

“….Pagourtzis confessed to the shooting, admitting to officers he targeted students he didn’t like and wanted his story told, court records show.
