Narrative Information
Grazulis: “AL Oct 25, 1925 02:00 18k [killed] 60ink 300y 65m F4 Crenshaw/Pike/Bullock/ Barbour [counties]. Moved ENE from 5m N of Luverne to Comer. Dozens of homes were destroyed in rural communities near the Crenshaw/Pike County border. At least seven people died in that area, including four children and their aunt in one home, and a 105-year-old woman in another. These were in the ‘Good Hope’ and ‘Centenary’ communities north of Troy. Other deaths were scattered along the path. $250,000.”
National Weather Service, Weather Forecast Office, Birmingham, AL: Beginning at about 2:00 a.m. and continuing along a 65 mile path, “Dozens of homes were destroyed in rural communities along the path. At least 11 died along the Pike Crenshaw County line.” (Alabama Tornado Database.)
